The Master Plan consists in the development of the following stages: -Carrying out a comprehensive review and assessment of the existing situation with respect to sanitation and drainage in the city; -Developing a strategy for improving sanitation and drainage services, and analysing and recommending an appropriate institutional framework; -Providing support for consensus building around the strategy and institutional framework; -Preparing an integrated sanitation and drainage master plan to meet demand for services in the year 2035; and -Identifying and preparing detailed engineering designs and tender documents (FIDIC) for priority sewerage investments. The Master Plan also includes: the preparation of the Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA); Knowledge Transfer and Capacity building (CB); the development of GIS Analysis and Mapping tools; and Topographic and geotechnical surveys to support the detailed engineering designs. The estimated flow is 1736.11 l/s, corresponding to a population equivalent to 1 500 000 inhabitants.
